What is Joshua's Law, and how does it impact driver's education requirements?

Senate Bill 226, also known as “Joshua’s Law,” was passed during the 2005 General Assembly. Beginning January 1, 2007, all 16- and 17-year-olds applying for a Class D driver’s license must complete an approved 30 hour driver’s education course as well as at least 6 hours with a Georgia Department of Driver Services certified driving school.

The class is being taught by a well experienced certified driving instructor who goes over all material and is available to answer any questions or doubts.

We teach the curriculum offered by AAA called “How to Drive” The material takes a comprehensive approach to reduced-risk driving and introduces new drivers and their families to The Highway Transportation System, best driving practices, rules of the road, and modern-day vehicle safety technology systems.

Parents may access the zoom link provided to check up on their child or they can stay up to date with the instructor’s attendance on the student/parent portal.
